Peanuts for dinner? August 15, 2007

Not having kids to feed allows Dave and I to have very odd meals sometimes. Like the other night. It was blisteringly hot in here, well over 90F in the kitchen, and neither of us felt like making the room warmer yet by applying heat to food. So we scrounged. Dinner ended up consisting of Odd peanutpeanuts, popcorn (mine had cinnamon sprinkled liberally on it), a few pieces of pre-sliced pepperoni (don’t ask), and a bowl of fruit that was already cut up and ready.

This was one of the peanuts. Fun shape, isn’t it?

Not much progress has been Mystery stole 2007-08-15 2made since my last update on, well, anything. I managed a few more rows on the Mystery Stole. I’m only half way done with clue six, and the final clue, number seven, is due out in two days. I won’t be getting much knitting done on it at all this evening, as we’re going to a friend’s house for dinner. Fun, but I can never knit there. The food will be good, though, and the wine.

Mystery stole 2007-08-15 1

I think the back of the feathers portion of the mystery stole looks pretty cool, so I’m sharing. All those bumps will make beautiful lace when they’re blocked.

Mostly I’ve been hibernating downstairs, and tinkering some more with my lace. I’ve played with some edgings the last few days. Came up with something that wasn’t horrible, then went diving in more of my knitting books and found an edge that I like that I think will work just fine. Much easier to maneuver around the stitches in it, too. No new pictures of it, though. Sorry.

Have to cut this short. Dave’s home, and we’ll be going to our friends’ house in short order. Don’t want to be late for dinner!

    Chris and I do the saame thing sometimes! Tonight we had cheerios, leftover rice, and sliced tomatoes! Haha!

    You’re really keeping up with the mystery stole! I hear it is becoming strangely shaped… Do you like how it is turning out?

    I like cinnamon and popcorn but I’ve never had them together. Interesting idea. I often scrounge together whatever or make up some odd sandwich if it’s just me for dinner.

    My DH doesn’t much like to scrounge my DS#3 and I do it frequently. If DH is working the afternoon shift we have really wierd things. I love plain pepperoni, I eat it with cheese and Ritz crackers too!!

    I only get to do those dinners when DH is out of town. Thankfully, that’s frequent!
