In Finishes, Knitting, Mystery Stole by Laura | 9 comments

- Pattern: Mystery Stole 3 by Melanie
of Pink Lemon Knits
- Yarn: Baruffa Cashwool in pearl, about 64 grams of yarn, which equates to about 934 yards
- Beads: Size 8/0 beads, peacock inside color from Fire Mountain Gems
- Needles: KnitPicks Options, size six, and one size 13 crochet hook for applying beads
- Elapsed time: June 29 through September 3
- Finished size: 22 x 92 inches
- Changes: I used larger needles than the pattern called for, as I wanted my stole to be bigger.
- Notes: I loved every minute of knitting this stole. Well, that’s not quite accurate. I did get a little tired of knitting paw prints, but that doesn’t really count, does it? Its hard to tell in my pictures, but the finished stole is as light as air. The beads add subtle accents, and I’m sure in the right light they’ll sparkle delightfully. The only thing I’m not completely in love with is that once again I bound off too tightly to get nice points. I followed the instructions, and thought I had done so well, too. Until I got to blocking it. Next time I have something like this to bind off, I’m doing it with a crochet hook so it’ll be looser.

Gorgeous! I stopped at Clue 3 and will pick it up again after the kiddies are off to school.

I love the first photo. It looks like a delicate lace envelope-package. It looks so light and airy and gorgeous. I can’t wait to see it next time we get together!

That looks lovely! It’s nice to see that yarn knit up, too, as I have some coming my way for another project. It’s very pretty yarn and knits up like a dream!
Well done on the stole!
