Knitting hugs

Dave’s sock

Socks for Dave 2007-10-05I’ve been making grand progress on the second sock, all those toe increases are done, as are the first few rounds of the pattern. Yippee!

I’ve been thinking that I should name these socks something other than “socks for Dave.” The stitch pattern is called Dainty Diamonds, but that doesn’t work very well for a man’s sock. I could just shorten it to Diamonds I suppose. Or… I don’t know. Any thoughts? Yes, I am planning on writing up this pattern when I’m done. It’ll be a free pattern, and I’m hoping that the nice folks at Crystal Palace will want to link to my pattern like they did with Forget-Me-Not. They did send me this Maizy yarn that I’m using for these socks for Dave as a nice gift, so I think the odds are good. Oh, and speaking of Crystal Palace’s yarns, have you seen the Panda Silk yet? It looks fabulous. I’m definitely looking forward to trying it. Socktoberfest 2007

Since it is October, and I am knitting socks, I thought I’d better sign up for Lolly’s third annual Socktoberfest.

Test knitting

South Seas Stole done 2Starting this week, Dixie, Kathryn, Keiko, Kristie, and Margaret are knitting my South Seas Stole pattern. They’ve found a ton of mistakes in the charts so far. Though I knit from the charts myself, I obviously made certain assumptions while knitting based on what I knew I was doing, ignoring the fact, not even seeing it actually, that the charts were wrong. And typos. Things like putting a space between the end of the word and the “s” that made it plural. Doh. I have a really good feeling that by the time my test knitters are done with me, it’ll be a grand pattern that works.

Hugs

One of the ladies on my stitching board posted a link to Free Hugs. Go read it. Make sure you watch the video. Before you go, come here. Let me give you a hug. Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog. And thanks for the hug. I always need more hugs.

How ’bout Dave’s Diamonds or Diamond Dave socks? Hey, thanks for the hug, right back at ‘cha. Good thing there are nice people who want to knit your stole. It’s kind of like writing a paper and not seeing errors, you know what you meant to put……..

I’m so glad you got the volunteers needed to test knit your lovely stole. You and Dave have a fantastic weekend!

(HUGS) back to you too! That was a beautiful video.

The pic of the socks comes up really strange for me. Not sure if it’s my end or not….. I was thinking Diamond(s) in the Rough for some strange reason.

So Dave’s Dainty Diamond’s won’t work? tee hee

Sorry I’m so far behind on the test knitting, but in a way maybe it isn’t a bad thing since I’ll be test knitting the revised charts.
