Unreasonably excited

I got a note from Susan at Crystal Palace Yarns just a few minutes ago. She added my Diamonds in His Shoes sock pattern to their free sock pattern index. There are a couple links back here—one each to the pattern page and to the blog entry when I finished—from their pattern page. That all totally rocks. Thank you, Susan! Not to out do her own self, though, she’ll be sending along a little thank you give in the name of samples of the new-and-not-yet-released yarn, Panda Silk. This new yarn is another bamboo blend, with 52% bamboo, 43% washable merino, and 5% silk. I’m not even going to tell you what color I chose. You’ll just have to wait and see. I know. I’m mean, aren’t I?

I know. I’m horrible. I mean, not only won’t I tell you what color Panda Silk I asked for, but I’m not even going to show you a current picture of my candy wrapper sock. I’m too lazy to get the camera out to show you a nearly-finished gusset photo. That’ll have to wait until tomorrow. I’m just too out of it today.

Edited to add: I just saw that Posh Yarns has linked to Diamonds in His Shoes. They’re suggesting that the pattern be knit up in their Emily sock yarn in the Mesmerise colorway. Luscious!

I made progress last night forcing apart the dropped stitches in Clapotis. Hopefully the stitch dropping will be done soon so I can block it. It’s just all those not-dropped dropped stitches that are holding me back, making me reluctant. Dave verbalized something last night that’s been on the edge of my consciousness, unwilling to come forward: what will happen to them all when I get it wet? Will they all stick together again? Inquiring minds aren’t sure if they actually want to know, but they’ll find out one of these days. Sooner or later.

Meanwhile, I’m not letting myself knit the second swatch with that lovely blue ribbon yarn until I’m done, or nearly done, dropping all those Clapotis ladders. You can see what would probably happen, don’t you? The lovely blue ribbon will get knit up into a sweater and blocked long before the ladders are dropped, if I dare to pick up that yarn again. So, we wait. Impatiently.

I hope everyone out there has a safe and fun Halloween. Boo!
