Rosy swatch December 20, 2007
This isn’t completely a swatch. The leaves are all knit up and ready to go (I love the leaves). I was even clever when I got to the top, if I do say so myself. Looks just like I wanted it to. If only I could get the right flower pattern for the top of the shawl. Drat. Though I love those flowers, I really don’t like them there. Realized that while knitting along last night, and stopped abruptly. I clearly need to go pattern diving again. I’m just glad I put that lifeline in there, so it’ll be easy to rip it back.
This is going to be a triangular shawl with an odd construction. At least that’s the plan. You know how most triangular shawls are either one big triangle or basically two triangles with a center line? Well, this one will have a center column of leaves. Though you’d never know that from looking at it right now. Go ahead. Follow the link. I’ll wait until you get back. Honestly, I didn’t even see that until I took the photograph off of the camera! That, um, “part” won’t show up that way when it’s done. I promise.
Have I mentioned how much fun I’ve been having with BookMooch? I don’t think I’ve mentioned them lately. The book trading has continued. Great stuff has been mailed out, and received. Yesterday I got this in the mail, Perri Klass’s Two Sweaters for My Father. I’ve wanted this book since it first came out. I’m definitely looking forward to reading it. I’ve always loved her Perri’s essays in Knitter’s—the best part of Knitter’s in the last year, if you ask me. I’m thinking I’ll be dropping that subscription. It’s due to expire with the next issue anyway. Easy to just not resubscribe. Sad though. I’ve subscribed for a lot of years, and hate to give up on them.
Sorry for the short (and sometimes lacking) posts of late. I’ve been busy with Christmas stuff, and with researching printing options so I can get a few of my patterns over to Sheri at The Loopy Ewe. I’m hoping to get printed patterns to her near the first of the year. Wish me luck!
