Back on track

I get to blog again!

While not the worst thing about the hard drive failure, not by a long shot, not being able to blog has been… frustrating. For a few days there, I didn’t even knit. I didn’t have the energy for it. I buried my nose in a book instead, and finished up The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy. I’m about a third of the way through The Bourne Ultimatum.

I did get some knitting done though.

The new shawl is bigger. That white line over on the left side of it is my lifeline. I’m 90% sure that I’m going to rip back to that line and knit a different motif in that spot. I have to decide soon, as the right side is almost to that point. Harmony Guide: Lace & EyeletsIt’s a lot farther along than you see here. I only have one purl row left to knit, and I’ll be even with that lifeline.

Lucky thing for me, my darling man bought the new Harmony Guide: Lace & Eyelets book for me for Christmas. I have quite a few patterns bookmarked, and ready to swatch.

Speaking of Christmas presents, I also got Cat Bordhi’s New Pathways for Sock Knitters: Book One. I’m going to have to spend some serious time with this book before I pick up needles and yarn. This woman is amazing. Her brain works in mysterious ways. She totally gets geometry, on a basic level. Stunning.

Knitted grafting?

Gotta try this. Grafting (a.k.a. Kitchener stitch) that’s done with knitting needles, not sewing needles. I’m dreadfully behind on my Knitting Daily reads, so saw this for the first time just now on Kim’s blog. Kim tried the technique and loved it.

Good to see you back. Hope you get everything adequately recovered.

Do you have the original Harmony guides? How do the new ones compare? I usually like Erika Knight’s books - nicely laid out and beautiful photographs. You should find that one very useful.

Whew, finally. A couple days there I would click on the link and it would say It Works! but it didn’t really. I didn’t realize the Bourne movies were based on books. Your shawl is going to be beautiful, of course, your designing is always wonderful.

    Welcome Back
