Excitement reigns

They came today. The printed copies of the three patterns that will show up over at The Loopy Ewe.

Three patterns

Those of you who requested it will be getting your wish sometime next week: you’ll be able to get paper patterns from Sheri. The patterns are all stuffed into their sleeves; they’re ready to go.

I can’t even begin to tell you how exciting this whole process is. I’m downright giddy!

By the way. I love the printer I used. I really wanted to use a local printer. I called tons of print shops. Even contacted places like Kinko’s, as at least the staff is local. But no. Even black and white printing, which I didn’t want, was way too expensive with any of them. You should see the spreadsheet I used to calculate my costs. Complicated. So I searched on the Internet, and came up with DocuCopies. I uploaded my file, they printed a bunch of copies of it for me, full color on every page, double sided, nice 32 pound paper— all for a fraction of the cost, including shipping, of any of the other guys. And it was pretty fast, too, considering there were two holidays involved, and I got the order in late in the day. I’ll definitely be going back to them!

I did a bad thing the other day. I bought a little treat for myself. I had to! You see, Dave bought Cat Bordhi’s New Pathways for Sock Knitters for me for Christmas, and in order to knit the socks in that book, I have to have a special lettered set of stitch markers.

You see where I’m going, don’t you?

I took myself off to Etsy, to a shop link that Kristie shared when she got her lettered stitch markers, Hide and Sheep (don’t they have the cutest knit-y name?), and they made up a special little set, just for me. Blue jade stitch markerI poked around on their pages, and saw some gorgeous blue jade beads. I had to have them. After a couple email messages back and forth, while we discussed options and so forth, they sent me this picture of one stitch marker. I said yes!, they sent me a PayPal invoice, I paid it, and before I knew it I had notification that the stitch markers were on their way to me. The markers were mailed on New Year’s Eve. I know. It’s only the third. And today’s mail hasn’t even arrived. But they’re not here yet. I know. A knitter’s impatience. It’s not like I’m going to start a pair of socks as soon as they arrive, but you know. I want to see them. Hold them. Delight in them.

I signed up for two all day workshops here with Cat later this month - Basic and Advanced Sockitecture. Guess I’d better order some ABC stitch markers soon.

Guess this means I’ll be eyeballing Loopy Ewe more frequently, (other than myself) they are my LYS since they are in MO and have some of the most amazine yarns I’ve seen, most of which I cant get yet since I dont have enough capital built up :-( .

Oh, congratulations Laura! Be giddy and do the dance of joy. Why not??
Sheri’s scored another winner by adding your designs to the roster.

Hey, that is awesome….your patterns are gorgeous.

By the way, I had to do some printing recently and also discovered how crazy expensive Kinkos is….tried this online printer to do some color copies for my handmade jewelry business, and I think it’s even cheaper than the one you used, and they came out perrrfect! Check them out next time you plan to run some off.
