Who, me? January 30, 2008
On Monday my dear friend Kristie gave me an award! I could well be wrong (please don’t be angry if I am), but I don’t think I’ve gotten any sort of blogging award before. I’m flattered, tickled pink, all smiles. Thank you so much! The official rules of this award are:
Give the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times.
In no particular order:
- Anne is a marvel. I am inspired every time I read her blog, which is almost every day.
- Brenda, a fabulous knitter, who measures scarf and shawl progress on her couch-o-meter.
- Marlene, whose systematic approach to the master knitting program is inspiring.
- Deb who put up with me when my hormones were raging out of control, and salvaged Booking Through Thursday from the ashes. She also reads, knits, spins, and has the cutest dog, Chappy.
- Cheryl, an avid knitter and spinner, who knits fabulous sweaters and shawls for herself, and the cutest little stuff for her adorable niece.
- I think Kim must have been one of my very first readers. I’ve been following her varied knitting and counted cross stitch projects, and listening to the tales of her adorable children for ages now! (I’ll be back to do that book thing, gf.)
- Karen and I have similar heritage, and even a family name in common! Though she splits her time between Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area, she still makes time to knit and blog regularly. And you should just see her wonderful projects.
- Vicki knit the most incredible cabled sweater, Starmore’s St. Brigid. Really. You have to see it. Her blog is always full of creative knitting and brilliant photography.
- Like Anne, Mim comes up with inspiring designs. Between work and lots of secret knitting projects she’s had her hands full lately.
- Michelle is the cross stitching equivalent of a fearless knitter, tackling (and completing) HAED, Teresa Wentzler, and other large and complicated designs that will take your breath away.
Knitting in Anaheim Hills
I have photos from Monday evening! This time the links aren’t to Ravelry pages, but to blogs or Flickr pages, as available. Thank you, Denise, for sending them along!
Top row of photos, left photo, from left to right we have Cindi, Rhonda, Barbara (Cindi’s mom), and me. Center photo, left to right: Donia (I’m probably still spelling that wrong), Knitterotica, Cindi, and Rhonda. Right photo, left to right: Barbara, me again, and cutie Alexis.
Second row of photos, photo on the left, we have Chia. Center photo is Denise. The right hand, very blurry photo, we have Alexis and Marie. So. That’s us. Had a great time! Definitely looking forward to next Monday.
Calendar giveaway
DonnaC, please contact me ASAP. I need your address so I can get this calendar out to you. If I don’t hear from you within the next couple of days, I’ll send the calendar off to winner number two.

Thanks so much for the vote for my blog, Laura. I’ll have to think hard about my list. I assume I can vote for you back.
By the way, I’m going to be in San Diego for a few days in July.
Have you seen the Katherine Hepburn Cardigan in Pam Allen’s Lace Style using sport-weight Louet Gems Opal?

Awww-thanks Laura and Congrats to you–your blog is definitely on my list.
I love the knitting group pics–one of my favorite things about knitters is that no matter where we meet, how varied our backgrounds are, when we get together it’s like we’ve known each other forever and your group looks like it’s no exception.
