Ad on RavelryFrom now through the end of the month, if you’re on Ravelry you’ll occasionally see my small advertisement on the My Notebook pages. The ad links to my Garden Party pattern on Ravelry—as of this moment 170 people on Ravelry have put that pattern in their queue. Woot! I’ve been wondering about doing this for a while, and a spot came up today for the last half of the month, so I grabbed it.

So far the ad hasn’t been viewed many times, but it’s been up for only about seven hours, and it didn’t go up until 5 pm my time, so we’ll see how it goes. Ravelry’s much busier when it’s daytime in the U.S.

Speaking of Ravelry, the site was mentioned in an article in the Berkshire Eagle, Stories and Stitches a few days ago. Too bad they didn’t get the gist of Ravelry, but if you read the comments (there’s a link at the end of the article) a Raveler did a lot to filling in the gaps. The knit/read reported by the article sounds great. I’d love to go to something like that.

Chameleon Colorworks, Bambino, Figgy Pudding

I have a new hank of sock yarn from Chameleon Colorworks: Bambino in a colorway called Figgy Pudding. As the name implies, there’s bamboo in this yarn—30% bamboo, to be exact, as well as 60% merino, and 10% nylon. It’s super soft, and has a delicious sheen to it. I can’t wait to get my needles into this. Do need to finish up Emerald first, though.

I wound this up into a ball since I took these pictures, and it’s even more inviting. The yarn is sitting there glowing at me in the dark. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep my needles out of this yarn until Emerald is done. We’ll see. Our next door neighbor invited us over for dinner tonight, which was wonderful (and delicious!), but it means that no knitting got done at all this evening. Drat. I’d been looking forward to getting more of that second sleeve done, too.

Figgy Pudding Figgy Pudding

It’s daylight again now, so I was able to take a couple of pictures of the Bambino Figgy Pudding all balled up. See? Gorgeous, isn’t it? Scratching post

Over the weekend a neighbor on the other side got new carpeting. Dave was able to get a piece of the old stuff, which he used to recover Ricki’s scratching post. Now, instead of having 25 year old gold high-low carpeting falling off it in tatters made by years of actually being used as a scratching post, it looks clean and new. Ricki loves it. The neighbor has a couple of dogs, so she alternately sniffs the post and uses it to scratch. Oh yeah. We found out why the post is so heavy. If I’d ever known I’d long since forgotten that the central post is one heavy 6×6 piece of lumber. I wonder where the guy who made the post for me got that piece of wood. I hope that if I remember I don’t forget something more important.

The simple joys in life are the best.

I am so excited that your patterns are creating such a stir. Hopefully the add drums up a ton of new interest :)

I like the Figgy Pudding colorway–cool name, cool colors.

And nothing like a new scratching post to make your kitty’s day. Mine have practically torn theirs to shreds.

Your patterns are brilliant so I’m not surprised. Love the bambino yarn! I may have to go find some that! Can’t wait to get my blocking wires, thanks so much I’ve been coveting a set for so long I finally broke down and ordered.

How exciting about the ad. I bet we’ll be seeing that shawl all over blogland in the near future. I can’t wait!!

I haven’t seen the ad yet, but I’ve been trying to catch up on blog posting and reading today instead of hanging out on Ravelry.

The figgy pudding colorway is one of the best ones. I love it. I can’t wait until I can spin well enough to justify purchasing her rovings. Spinning with her rovings is going to be pure heaven.

Yeah for Miss Ricki’s “new” scratching post.

Oh, that Figgy Pudding looks luscious. My colors too. I’ll bet by now you have your needles stuck into it!!! My kitties don’t have their front claws, they are strickly inside, (we live on a highway), but they still act like they are scratching. I can just imagine what my cupboards would look like!!
