So shall we… frog March 31, 2008
Hm. For some reason that doesn’t sound quite right. It’s appropriate, though. I worked diligently on the Figgy Pudding sock on Saturday, most of Sunday. At one point I had almost this much knitting done, didn’t like what I had, ripped it back to the ribbing, picked up the stitches, and started over. ![]()
Then it got big enough to slip over my foot.
It’s too loose. I need to go down a needle size.
I’m hoping that will also help with the incredible pooling I’m experiencing.
So. Yeah. Sunday afternoon the sock went from a beginning to a pile of crimped yarn.
While I’m deciding what to do about the figgy pudding sock, I picked up Mingus again. Finally! It’s been in time-out ever since I had to frog 64 rows plus the heel flap on February 13. You know what? Knitting’s a whole lot easier when you’re not trying to use needles that are too small for the yarn. I already have the one inch of twisted rib done, as well as five rows of pattern stitch. The fabric feels a lot better this time, too. The yarn actually feels smooshy, which is totally appropriate.
Check this out. I’m at almost exactly the same place on this sock as I was on January 17.
Have you seen Cookie A’s latest design, Marilinda? I love it.
I had a little helper when I was taking pictures of the pile of figgy pudding that used to be the start of a sock. That first picture is of Ricki sniffing the camera lens—a little too closely. She’s camera shy. Not. The other two are of her pretty face, far enough away that she’s actually in focus. My. What pretty green eyes you have, kitty.
I got a postcard the other day from the Knit & Crochet Show. I have no idea how I got on this mailing list, but I’ve been on it for years. Years. This year their summer show will be in Manchester, New Hampshire from July 25 through July 27. Never been to one of their shows. But then, that’s not a big surprise since I only just got to Stitches West this year. If you’re a CGOA or TKGA member and know you’ll be in the neighborhood you can get in for free, otherwise it’s $10.00 (each additional day is $5.00). Unless, of course, you are the bearer of one of their postcards, then you save $2.00 on admission. I know for a fact that I won’t be in New Hampshire come summertime. It’s not exactly in my neighborhood. If you plan to go to the show, and want to save a couple bucks, I’ll mail this postcard to you. But you have to leave a comment to this post on or before midnight Thursday, April 4, 2008, Pacific time, saying that you’d like the postcard. You can say other things related to my post if you’d like, too. If more than one person asks for the postcard, I’ll pick a winner at random.

I know how much frogging can hurt, but it’s always so worth it in the end, huh? Ricki is so gorgeous. She looks so sweet sniffing the camera. *sigh* I miss my Charlie.

Now, see, I’m rather intrigued by the pooling and I sort of like it when it pools and creates patterns, at least, when it doesn’t fight against the pattern I may be using.
Also, read your insomnia post and I had TERRIBLE insomnia last Friday. I was fooling around on Ravelry from 11pm-2am and then still couldn’t sleep/tossed and turned/cat napped then woke up until I had to be up and around at 7:30. I do think that is the first time that has ever happened.

Oh the mulit colored yarn is awesome! I love how it blends. Yummy.
Miss Ricki is a professional you know. She’s been photographed so many times…..

I love the way it was pooling! The colors are just gorgeous.
I always seem to get pooling when I don’t want it, but can’t seem to get it when I do. It’s a mystery.

Now bring us some Figgy Pudding… oh bummer. Ricki is such a cutie. I like the close-up pictures. She’s too funny.

I’m anxious to see what will become of Figgy Pudding, but I’m also glad to see you’re attempting Mingus again. I sure hope it goes better this time.
Great photos of Miss Ricki. You’re having fun with that macro setting aren’t you?
