It’s here April 25, 2008
Ya gotta love it when the postal system works like a well-oiled machine—like when a package is sent one day, and received the next. By the intended recipient. Especially when the package includes black Malabrigo Lace yarn so that a certain stole project can be finished. Thank you, Cathy! ![]()
Since I was ordering yarn anyway, and I didn’t want to waste all that perfectly good shipping money on one ball of yarn (again), I asked Cathy to send along a couple hanks of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in Mineshaft. It’s really too bad that Dave’s allergic to wool. He’d love socks out of this yarn, and I’d be happy to make them for him. But he is, so I won’t.
Tilt is coming along swimmingly, in spite of the needles that continue to loose bits of bamboo while I’m knitting. I watched The Two Towers yesterday afternoon (The Fellowship of the Ring the day before) while knitting feverishly. I’m loving how the yarn looks with this stitch pattern. There’s enough done now so that you can see how the blocks tilt back and forth… I’m having such fun with this, and it’s coming along so well, that I think I’ll continue working on it this afternoon while watching The Return of the King instead of finishing up Dulcavina. I’ll wind up that black yarn, though, and have it ready for knitting tonight while watching the SciFi Friday night lineup.
Meanwhile, the second Mingus sock is growing. One more full pattern repeat before the heel.
Question: Is the comments function working? I’ve only received one comment in the last two days in spite of getting a couple hundred hits, so I’ve been kind of wondering… If it’s not working, would someone please send me an email message to let me know? Thanks. I hope you have a marvelous weekend. See you next week!
ETA: Danielle (thank you!) was nice enough to let me know that she got an error when trying to leave a comment. I’ve turned off the captcha code I was using, so that shouldn’t be a problem now. Off to look for a new captcha system to augment Akismet…
E(again)TA: I found another comment-spam prevention system. I installed and tested it, and it worked fine for me. Please let me know if you have any trouble with it. Thanks!

Test 1, 2, 3…. Sorry dearie, I didn’t read yesterday. I was a zombie all day and then fast asleep earlier than normal.
And I want to be the first to say happy blogoversary in 3 days!
Jessica April 26
Oh, even though I’ve just found you, I’ll be the second to say Happy Blogoversary……. (is that how we spell it, has it been added to Webster’s yet)?

Too bad about Dave’s allergy to wool. Mineshaft is beautiful yarn. Meanwhile, I love how your kitty is checking out Mingus’ yarn. Kinda funny.
Friday night SciFi channel? Who fan?

Hi Laura, I’m testing to see if I can leave a comment using IE. My normal browser is AOL, maybe that has been the problem. I don’t like having to switch to IE to leave a comment though : ( - Denise
I can always just message you through Ravelry!
Robin April 27
I see the comments are working…….
BTW, love the sock yarn!!! You always pick such beautiful colors.
Christina April 27
Really like the new sock pattern, works well with the yarn!
Mikki April 27
Dave might be allergic to wool; my skin adapts perfectly. Therefore, I am not, so you will.
Abigail April 28
Lovely socks and happy blogoversary to you:D

You must bring all the projects to knit night so I can see them in person. All your socks look gorgeous! I love the Tilt pattern. It works so perfectly with that yummy yarn. I’m so glad Cathy had another skein of the black in stock for your stole. Whew, that was close!
