Needs blocking April 29, 2008
Dulcavina is almost done. I just need to block it. Hopefully that’ll get done some time today. I hope. I love how it turned out.
One of my test knitters, Kathryn, actually finished before I did. Her stole is even blocked. She doesn’t have any pictures up yet, but the preview I saw is stunning. Hers is knit with three hanks of Malabrigo Lace, all the same color. Her finished dimensions are spot on, and she even had about 25g of yarn left over. Sweet. I’ve got to get mine blocked. It’s on the counter, right next to the sink, ready for its soak. My other two test knitters, Kristie and David, are neck and neck. They’re both making great progress with the pattern. Kristie’s using Malabrigo Lace, too, in a color similar to the one Kathryn used. David, though, is using Eva from Posh Yarn. I’m looking forward to seeing how this shawl looks in such a different yarn.
I’m hoping to be able to get this pattern released about mid May. Let me know if you want notification when the pattern is ready.
I’ve been making great progress on the first Tilt sock. The pattern is fun, and is knitting up quickly. I’m actually farther than this now… Except for grafting the toe, this first sock is done. I hope to get the grafting done later this morning. I finished the knitting up at knit night last night. I even got a few rows done on the second Mingus sock after I got to the grafting point on Tilt; I’m glad I took Mingus along. I’m within five rows of starting the heel flap on that one. Yea!
The new anti-spam software that I installed seems to be working quite well—except for people who use AOL’s browser. They get an error when they try to post a comment. If you’re one of those people, and have figured out a work-around for it, or can think of a setting or something in AOL that’ll make it work, please let me know and I’ll pass on the information.

I wonder how neck & neck we will be with me trying to do a bit of spinning. I think I’ll go knit now for a bit.
I love Tilt. It actually looks as great in your photos as it does in person.
Thank goodness I stopped using AOL *years* ago.
