It’s raining

Rain in May

The weather this year is very confused. It’s actually raining. I was sitting there on the floor—I come from a Canterbury Bellsfamily of floor-sitters, what can I say?—grafting the two ends of my scarf together, and suddenly it got quite dark. I looked up, looked out the window. Are those… Raindrops? Yes. They are. I tried to get a picture of the actual raindrops for you, but the auto-focus couldn’t grab them as they went by. Drat. Canterbury Bells

The air smells so nice!

Anyway… Yes. I got those two repeats I ripped back yesterday reknit. This morning I grafted the two sides together. Now I just need to weave in the ends and block it.

Canterbury Bells

Sorry about the red dot in the picture. It was so dark all of a sudden, because of the lovely rain, that the camera couldn’t see properly. Yes, that’s my grafted bit. The two light blue strands are the lifelines on either side, one’s a row or two below the other one, knitting wise, but still close enough to the top of the knitting just in case I messed up royally while grafting. It’s been known to happen. It went fairly smoothly today, though. Probably because I had the lifelines to help. I’m pretty much guaranteed to mess up if I don’t have lifelines.

I know. It’s a pathetic excuse for a blog entry, but that’s it. That’s what you get today.

Yay, for rain! It’s my favorite time of year around here, too (in the Bay Area, it lasted well into July, even!), and we got some tiny sprinkles. I’m wearing a sweater and something around my neck, and so happy for the excuse to wear my knitting just a wee bit longer. :)

I am not complaining, it’s a nice post. Plus now I get to figure out what grafting means… I assume it’s a fancy way of joining?
Hoorah for rain! We haven’t had much here, well not like we should be having.
In case I haven’t mentioned in a while- it looks beautiful :)

I enjoyed looking at the grafting, you did a great job - I just wish that I could do it as nicely. I guess I need to find someone (or a very detailed set of pictures) to see how it should be done. My attempts are more obvious!

We too are having rain (Portland, OR) and while it does make the air smell great, and the lawn doesn’t need watering - I’m looking forward to some warm weather!

I love the rain, except this weather front has my fibro flaring in a big bad way. I was also unable to get warm for some strange reason. Then I found the Bailey’s Irish Cream, dumped some in my coffee and now I’m all better. :-)

My grafting has never looked that good. What’s the secret?
