Nothing much

I don’t have much for you today. The knitting projects have grown. They don’t look much different than they did yesterday, especially the bag, at least not to a camera’s eye. Beautiful Knitting Patterns

I did get something fun in the mail yesterday, though. I’ve talked about Book Mooch a number of times, and all the fabulous books I’ve sent and received through that site. Well, yesterday I received a knitting stitch dictionary from a very kind person on Book Mooch, Beautiful Knitting Patterns by Gisela Klopper. It’s wonderful. There are some fabulous stitch patterns in this Yarn triobook, a number of which I’m planning designs around already: socks, mitts, lace… Lovely stuff. The lovely lady who sent the book to me even sent along several hanks of yarn, one each in gold, red, and purple. I’ll have to think of something to do with them.

Dave’s been helping me—ha, ha; read: doing most of the work!—to set up a new web site for my knitting designs, a separate storefront online to help promote my growing business. It’s coming along well. Hopefully we’ll get it done before too terribly long, get it online, so you can see it, shop in it, all that good stuff. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done. In the meantime, I have tons of stuff to do here behind the scenes, so I’d better stop blogging, and get going.

That’s the first stitch dictionary I ever bought myself. It seemed approachable, without being too limited :) I can’t wait to see what you do with it, it’s sure to be good!

I’ve got that book too - I love all the patterns she collected!

I also love it because my middle name is Gisela, and there aren’t that many of us around outside of Germany!

The only thing I find a bit difficult about using it is that some of the symbols are different than those I’m used to.

Laura, I’m so impressed with how you are growing your business. Your designs are fabulous. I’m looking forward to your new website - I know it will be beautiful, like everything you design : )

& “atta boy” to hubby for being such a great support!

The Gisela Klopp book is great. The only problem with it is that the stitches don’t seem to have names. I am edging a stole I designed which has the center lace pattern on page 55 as the main pattern. Other knitters have asked me what it is andI can’t tell them.

Hmm, I’ll have to see if my library has that book. Yarn too? What a lucky gal you are!
