Fiber Dreams

I think that I’ve decided on all the stitches that will be in Karen’s shawl. I say that I think I have, because one never knows what will happen when I get going. Designs have been known to have a life of their own, and to change as I knit them without my really being aware of what’s happening. Left to be figured out: how to cast on to my satisfaction, fixing the first repeat so that it works better, deciding how many repeats to do of each stitch, exactly where and when and how often the beads will go on, getting the charts to a) make sense, b) fit on a letter-size page, c) be legible even when I’m not wearing glasses…

Okay. As you can see, I’m nowhere near done with this. Really, I’ve only just begun.

One decision is certain. The beads will be red. Karen has spoken. I’m glad, too. I was secretly hoping for the red beads. They look so pretty on this yarn!
