Red lace July 15, 2008
I haven’t been posting much, but I’ve been knitting up a storm on the red shawl for Karen. I’ve knit 100 rows already. There are getting to be a bunch of stitches on each row. Bunches. There’ll be a ton more, though, before I’m through.
Sshhh. Don’t tell anyone. There’s a spot on the edge—both sides, naturally—where I goofed in bead placement. I didn’t fix it. I was too far along before I spotted it. If I’d been smart and had been using lifelines I might have gone back to fix it, but I didn’t do it, and now it’s too late. I don’t think anyone will notice, do you?
Made good progress on the cabled sock at knit night last night. I don’t think I’ve picked up that sock since last Monday, but that’s okay. It’s not like I’m working to a deadline or something. I’m close, oh so close, to starting the toe decreases. They’ll happen soon, then the first sock will be done. I have enough of the pattern itself done that Kristie has started testing it.
Speaking of test knitting, the red shawl is going into test-knit phase soon—hopefully later this week. The tentative release date for the pattern is about the middle of next month. If all goes well. ![]()
I’m glad I took something other than the cabled sock to knit night last night. It gets fairly dark where we normally sit, and so an easy-to-knit project is a must for after the sun goes down. I had everything I needed with me, so I cast on and started knitting Angela’s Fabulous Felted Bag (on Ravelry).
Ack. I’m jumping all over the place this morning, hither and yon, back and forth, here and there. Gak. Sorry about that. No wonder I haven’t been able to really get anything done so far today. I’m obviously way too scattered.
Oh! I got yarn on Saturday. Oooh. It’s gorgeous, too. This here is a hank of Down Home Art Yarns sock yarn from Ray at Knitivity. The colorway is called Riverbed, which is perfect for this harmonious combination of sky blues and rocky browns and tans. I’m looking forward to getting my needles into this yarn, seeing what it does.

I love the look of the shawl - great colour. Of course no-one will notice about the beads, unless you point them out that is!

I’d like to get my needles into that yarn. I’m trying to get some yarn from a lady at Ravelry, it’s Lorna’s Laces and I think it will be perfect for Merced, if I can help her figure out how to set up a Paypal acct!!!

I’m sure no one will ever notice the mistakes other than you. It looks beautiful to me!
