The Posh sock

I’ve been a busy little designer this morning. I worked on four pending patterns, their write-ups and charts. It was a little confusing now and then when I forgot what I was doing. Eek. Got it all straightened out, though. Charts are in the hands of test knitters near and far. I even printed out a couple for my own use, since I’m still knitting the designs myself. Earnest

Speaking of which, I need a little help with another name. It’s for the sock I’m knitting in Posh Yarn, the cabled one. The colorway is called Earnest. There are more pictures of it in this post—you’ll have to scroll down a bit to see them. While knitting it, I keep thinking of Jack London’s The Importance of Being Earnest.

I could call the sock Earnest, certainly. I’ve also been thinking of maybe calling it Algernon, or Uncle Jack, the two characters in the play who go by the pseudonym Earnest. What do you think?

What to name the Posh sock?

  • Uncle Jack (14%, 4 Votes)
  • Other - please leave idea in comments (7%, 2 Votes)

If you select Other, kindly let me know in the comments what name you think works well for this sock. Oh, and the poll closes at midnight Friday.

I love The Importance of Being Earnest (although I haven’t read it in forever), and those cables are just so Algernon-ish…

I voted for “other” thinking of Oscar, as in Wilde.
