People are wonderful

Posh Yarn, CeciliaTake Jacqui (on Ravelry) for instance. Foster mom. Posh Yarn lover. Knitter extraordinaire. Out of the blue she offered me a hank of Posh’s lace weight yarn out of her stash. I could have my choice. She’d mail it to me. And she didn’t want any money for it. Above and beyond. The post office took its own sweet time delivering the yarn, but it’s finally here. It’s fabulous. Stunning. Posh Cecilia, which is a 50/50 cashmere/silk blend. Cobweb weight. Divine.

Posh Yarn, Cecilia

Jacqui, you are a delight. Thank you so very much for the yarn! Don’t you dare try to buy the pattern from me that I will make with this yarn!

In addition to knitting almost constantly, I read. A lot. Finished 47 books so far this year. Face it. It’s difficult to knit while eating, and, er, other activities. But I can read then! So I do. Nothing to Lose by Lee ChildFrequently. One of my favorite authors is Lee Child. I just started Bad Luck and Trouble. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on his new book, out just last month: Nothing to Lose. I love the protagonist in all his stories, Jack Reacher. Six-five, two fifty. All muscle. Handsome. Does the right thing, even when it doesn’t work out well for him personally. I’d love to have this guy in my corner. Have to say, though, that I’m glad I don’t need him. Hope I never do. Still, though…

I be-bopped around on Amazon a bit yesterday afternoon, and found this short clip, Mr. Child telling us two things we didn’t know about Jack Reacher. If you follow the Bad Luck and Trouble link above, be sure to scroll down a bit. There’s another short clip with Lee Child talking about his creation, and below that a note from Mr. Child, telling us a bit more. Fun stuff. I love getting the inside scoop on favorite stories from their creators.

The new web site is very close to being done. Lots of little things to do, so I’d best be off doing them.

    Hi Laura,
Just came on over as it’s been awhile. This color is absolutely gorgeous.

All of your knitting is so beautiful. I miss seeing stitching updates, but I am so thrilled with your other endeavors.

    Take care!

Wow, how nice of her to send you yarn. You really did score on all that yarn. My LYS recently moved to a smaller building and I got a bunch of stuff of 75% off!!! What a great feeling.

Ooh, now that is some gorgeous yarn! I love the color, and I can’t wait to see what you do with it :)

As for books, do you read, or listen to them as audiobooks? Inquiring minds and all…

Cashmere and silk? mmmmm…. That is so wonderful.

You can read and knit at the same time? No wonder you get so much completed. I haven’t been able to do that … yet.
