Two down, a pattern to go August 8, 2008
Yarn: Zephyr Wool-Silk, Plum, 775 yards.
Beads: Size 8/0 seed beads, 10 grams, inside purple.
Needles & hooks: US size 5 (3.75 mm) circulars. Size 14 crochet hook for attaching beads. Crochet hook for provisional cast on.
Gauge: Haven’t figured out the gauge yet.
Finished size: Hm. I still need to measure it, too. It’s about 72 x 36.
Notes: I started fading a bit toward the end, but this was the second time I knit this pattern in a month, and I have a low threshold of boredom. All-in-all I think it went quite well. I love the finished purple shawl. The beads are even more subtle on this one than on Karen’s red one—so much so that it was difficult to get photos where they showed. Dave noted that I needed bright light and a star filter. Too bad the star filter that I bought for my 35mm camera a million years ago won’t work on this thing. Ah well.
I’m all set to get going on the brown lace dress again later today. This afternoon, though, I’ll be working on the second Algernon sock some more. Yesterday I got the heel flap done, heel turned, and gusset started. Kristie finished up her test knit of these socks. We’re down to hashing out the details on the pattern. I hope to release it later today, or tomorrow. Fingers crossed. The Friendship pattern is nearly ready, too. Test knitting on that one is also winding down. I clearly need to dig out my books, and start looking through them again for inspiration for the next design.

So pretty! Too bad I don’t get to see it in person for 10 days. :-( I wonder if my beads will show up better in my finished photos. Not that I’m finished with it, but I am in the home stretch of the border. Yeah!

That just turned out beautifully, and I love the purple color! So cheerful and rich :)

Very pretty! I have a low boredom threshold myself - scarfs can be really tricky to complete, even lace ones. I have to admire your ability to knit two of these in a row.

Simply scrumptious!

Plumalicious! And what Amanda said. Not one, but two lace shawls. Don’t know how you do it.

I agree with Amanda and Karen. You are just amazing to have knit not just one, but two of these in a row!
