A woodland theme September 3, 2008
When I got my hands on this lovely cashmere/silk yarn from Posh Yarn, I knew I had to knit a forest-themed stole. I’ve been wanting to do something with a wide, knit-as-you-go border all the way around it. I started digging through those stitch dictionaries that I took with me. Just wait until you see what I found. First we start with sunlight, rays of the sun filtering down through the trees. Add some ferns, pine cones, and (so far) fawn’s eyes, and presto! You have a stole.
I’m off to go dig around in some other stitch dictionaries to see if I can find something I like as much as the fawn’s eyes that’s a tad easier to knit.

That is so pretty! Like a story unfolding right in the stitches!

Pretty! And delicate. I haven’t quite yet mastered delicate lace. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

I love your new stole and I love green. It is very pretty. I know that
I couldn’t make it, but I would love to be able to. I did get your
sock pattern though and hope that I can make them.

Ohh, so pretty and definitely evocative of ferns and ancient woods! I can’t wait to see how this one evolves.
