Coyote serenade October 1, 2008
It’s 0:dark-30, and we were just serenaded by our neighborhood pack of coyotes. They went on for a couple of minutes tonight. Wonder what set them off tonight. They probably caught something. It’s funny. Living in the midst of literally millions of people, how common coyotes are in certain neighborhoods. Like mine. It’s a tiny bit more rural here. Most of the lots are left natural, and are unfenced. Because of the coyotes, and a couple of the larger avian predators, it’s just not safe for small domestic animals to be outside here. Once, that I know of, Dave found rabbit remains under our house, rather, uh, gnawed at and spread around. He figured a coyote was to blame. I wouldn’t doubt it. I don’t like to think about that part much. They coyotes are good at keeping the rabbit population under control. But please, dine somewhere else, okay?
Karen got her shawl recently, the Friendship shawl that I made for her. It looks wonderful over that black dress, doesn’t it? She wore it out to dinner on her birthday. Happy (belated) birthday, Dear.
I got my birthday present from Mom early this year (and probably Christmas present, too). My birthday isn’t until December, but I was drooling all over Mom’s new little digital camera when she was visiting earlier this month, and she took pity on me. She got me a Nikon Coolpix S600. Suweet! Now I just have to figure out how to use the bells and whistles with this thing. You wouldn’t believe the thickness of the manual. I think it’s thicker than the camera. I know it weighs more. The camera is tiny, and is packed with features. It’s small enough it’ll even fit in my purse! Score. Thank you, Mom.
I think it’s time for this blogger to try bed again. My sinuses seem to have calmed down a bit, my eyes are tired, and I’m tired. It was a long day. G’night.
