The sleeves are done November 25, 2008
On the one hand, I got quite a bit of knitting done last week. I guess. On the other, it doesn’t feel like it. I certainly spent a lot of time doing it, and very little time ripping things out. I finally got a handle on the sleeves for the cardigan. They’re both done. One is even seamed, the other not. They’re both attached to the sweater body, and the raglan shaping is progressing.
But that’s about as far as I got until I got home. I wanted to get farther with this, maybe even finish it while we were gone, but I knit myself up to the point where the neck shaping was to begin, and came to a screeching halt. I forgot to take along the neckline math from Syncopation, and they need to match. Between the flaky Internet connection and my frazzled brain, forward progress came to an abrupt halt. ![]()
That meant I had time to start the front of the brown dress. I have a little bit more done than this now, instead of three repeats done, nearly four are completed. I need a total of six pattern repeats before I can start the waist shaping. I keep making promises to myself regarding this dress. I really want to get it done. Soon. Stephanie’s out of town for a couple of weeks, and I’d love to have this ready for her when she gets home. Any bets? Will I get sidetracked—again? Will I manage some measure of stick-to-it-ativeness? I’m hoping that once I get to the waistline shaping, get that done, that the bodice will go quickly. It’ll have a deep V-neck, so here’s hoping. After that: side seaming, finishing the neckline and armholes, then picking up all those stitches around the hem so that I can add the border. Gak! Wish me luck.

I love the way this one’s working out! And I know what you mean about wanting to get a big project finished and out of the way, while all around you little projects are clamoring. I won’t take any bets, but good luck! :)

I hate when I’m on the road with my knitting and find I’ve forgotten something crucial. Thank goodness for my last couple of trips I’ve just forgotten pajamas but got all the knitting neccessities in.
I’m sure you’ll finish it in no time. But I won’t bet on the dress.
