Have to rip the dress December 8, 2008
I know. Don’t you hate even the thought? Here I was, knitting happily along, thinking I was actually making real progress on the dress for Stephanie, when wham! I made the mistake of holding the back of the dress up to myself, and realized that the waist is in the wrong place. I know. It wouldn’t be anywhere near so bad if
the yarn wasn’t so fuzzy. It’s a real pain to rip back fuzzy yarn. And I’d been so careful with stitch counts, making sure I wasn’t messing up the pattern. Gads. Makes me want to cry.
There’s only one thing to do.
Put the dress in timeout, and work on something else.
I found a stitch pattern the other day that I want to try out with the Lorna’s Laces yarn I got at Twist Yarns early last month when the knitting gang did our first big yarn crawl.
The plan is to wind up one of these balls this afternoon so that I can have something to knit at Knit Knight tonight, because unlike last week, I’m not.taking.the.dress.
More stitch swatching has been going on for the clover shawl. I found a couple of clover inserts that are lovely. I think I have enough good stuff to work with finally. Now I just need to decide how to arrange it. And if this shawl is going to be a triangle or rectangle.

What a fantastic job on the lace! I can’t wait until I get the courage to do something as intricate as that!

Bad dress. Bad, bad dress.
I hope Stephanie has no expectations for completion timeframe.
The Lorna’s Laces colors look intiguing. Will we get a shot of what it becomes?
