The Posh shawl is done April 9, 2009
Yes, you heard right. The knitting is done (I stayed up until 1:30 am to do it!), the shawl is blocked, and the pictures have been taken. The pattern needs to be tweaked a bit, then it will be test knit. Then you’ll be able to buy the kit from Posh Yarn. I’ll let you know when it’s available. If you want an email announcement instead of just relying on seeing it here, join my list.
Here are the stats:
- Pattern: Currently unnamed shawl, of my own devising.
- Yarn: Posh Yarn, Diana, 1 hank in Privilege.
- Needles: Size 5 (3.75 mm).
- Finished size: 66½ wide by 36½ high
- Elapsed time: March 18, 2009 to April 8, 2009.
- Skills: Lace knitting, chart reading, nupps.
- Notes: Except for purling together the occasional nupp stitches, the wrong side rows are simply purled—well, except the first and last two stitches of each row, which are knit—so the knitting is fairly simple.
And here are some more pictures:
I can’t believe I’ve actually managed to blog every day this week so far. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow. The next time you hear from me I should have swatches for a new shawl in silk…
