A good start April 13, 2009
Another of my favorite Frank Lloyd Wright windows is Tree of Life from the Darwin D. Martin house in New York. Simple elegance—and another piece of the inspiration for this shawl pattern. I made good progress on it over the weekend.
Only eight more rows to knit of the first motif before moving on to the next one.
I put the knitting down on the carpeting to pin it out like I normally do, and could hardly see it. It’s amazing how little detail shows when you have light gold yarn on “white” carpet. A navy blue cushion was sitting next to me, so I grabbed it. Ah. Now the knitting details show up. It was interesting pinning it to the cushion, though. The dents made by the buttons that hold it together added a dimension I wasn’t quite looking for.
Believe it or not, that’s all I have for you today. Need to get the pattern for the Posh shawl off to the test knitter, so that she can start.

The diamond shape Nupps look much better in the panels than the open lace :-) Is this gonna be a wrap instead of a triagular shawl?
