Naming the shawl: a poll May 8, 2009
Quite a few of you suggested names for my new shawl. They’re all wonderful. In no particular order, here’s the list. Vote for your favorite one. I’ll leave the poll up through the weekend, so you’ve plenty of time. As usual, this isn’t a democracy—if I find that I like one more than the one that gets the most votes, my choice will be the winner. I’ve been known to change my mind several times during a poll, so don’t think that your vote won’t mean anything, because it will.

While you’re deciding which shawl name you like best, I’ll let you take a peek at some old, old pictures that Mom unearthed recently. I’m the one with the long straight hair. Jayne and I were rather excited. Mom and Dad kind of were, too.
On a completely different note, we know the server has been very, very slow lately. Very slow. We’re trying to figure out why. Snort. Easier said than done. Most likely the first sign you’ll have that we’ve figured it out will be that it’ll be quick again, and my blog pages will load nice and fast, like they used to. Until then, thank you for your patience.
