Gold shawl name poll May 18, 2009
As usual, you all quite blow me away with your pattern name suggestions. I love them all. Thanks to the confusion of being able to post comments on pictures—a feature I have a love-hate relationship with—if you want to read the explanations for the suggestions you’ll find them in three places: here, here, and here. The person who suggested the pattern name that ends up being chosen will get a free copy of the pattern once it’s all done and presentable. The poll will expire early (well, for me) Wednesday morning, so you should have plenty of time to choose your favorite.

And no, I’ve made absolutely no progress on this gold shawl at all. For weeks. I really should, too. Egads.
I knit more on Babylon over the weekend… after ripping it all out, and starting over. It was too wide. With the limited amount of yarn I’m working with, the thing would have ended up about the right size for a head covering, but that’s about it. Now that it’s a little narrower, I’ll have plenty of yarn to make it a reasonable length.
For the first time in seven years Dave cooked up a batch of homebrew yesterday. Actually, as it turns out, it was seven years to the day since he’d brewed his last batch. I took a few pictures of the middle of the project. I wasn’t up early enough to catch the whole thing. There were problems. There are always problems. But the resulting wort smelled and tasted really good. The yeast is happy, and is busily fermenting away, even as we speak. Here’s hoping the resulting beer tastes as yummy as it promises to be.
