Antigua July 24, 2009
- Pattern: Antigua, of my own devising.
- Yarn: Skacel Merino Lace, in Dark Taupe.
- Needles: Size 4 (3.75 mm).
- Finished size: 82 x 41 (pattern written in 3 additional sizes, all smaller).
- Skills: Lace knitting, beads or nupps (both optional), grafting.
- Notes: The most difficult thing to do was to cast on and work the very first row, after that it’s downhill all the way—this is especially true because the bottom edge of the border is where you cast on, and decrease four stitches every right-side row until you get to the top. The last third of the shawl goes really, really fast.
You can see more pictures in my pattern shop and on Ravelry, and the pattern can be purchased at Patternfish.
I’m off to go knitting before my hands get any more sore from all the mousing and typing I’ve done today making new versions of a bunch of my patterns, and uploading them to Patternfish. The changes are cosmetic only. Don’t panic. All’s fine.

I really like the strong lines coming down from the top edge and leading into the geometric pattern below. Very simple, but also very striking.
