More bias knitting

Thankfully the access mess that was created yesterday by that denial of service attack seems to have gotten straightened out. I think I’m still getting email that came in during that. If you sent something to me, and got no reply, please resend your message.

Oriel bias stoleSo far it just looks like a big triangle knit from the point up, doesn’t it? At least, it does until you turn it on its side, the way it will eventually be worn…

Actually, so far anyway, it still rather looks like that. Or it will until I Oriel bias stole 2get pictures of it turning the corner at the top edge. I don’t have those pictures yet, as there really isn’t enough of the corner bending done to show. Yet. There will be. Yes, I blocked it again. For some reason this stitch is quite squished together and difficult to see—even more difficult to measure—as it is knit. I imagine I’ll block this at least one more time while it’s still on the needles.

I’m looking for the name of a good castle or cathedral with nice oriels, or specific oriel window to name the pattern after. I think I have one, but I’m not positive yet. Have you any suggestions for me? If I get enough suggestions I’ll think about doing another poll. If not, I’ll just pick something. If I pick yours, you’ll get the pattern when it’s done.

It reminds me of England in November so what about plain simple November? Maybe a little on the gloomy side, so it might be cheerier by calling it November Morning?

    Several famous Gothic cathedrals include:
    Notre-Dame
    Cologne
    Bourges
    Chartres
    Rouen

    All have oriel windows…
