Thornbury August 28, 2009

- Pattern: Thornbury, of my own devising.
- Yarn: Valley Yarns 2/14 Alpaca Silk, Pacific.
- Needles: Size US 6 (4.0 mm).
- Finished size: 10 x 63 (24 x 74.5) inches; 25.4 x 160 (61 x 189.25) cm.
- Skills: Lace knitting, including p2tog, p3tog, and SSP.
- Notes: The Thornbury pattern is written as both a scarf and a stole. It’s knit on the bias, casting on just four stitches, and binding off four stitches on the other end. The old and beautiful oriel stitch travels at an angle across the stole, from one end to the other. Instructions are charted only.
You can see more pictures in my pattern shop and on Ravelry, and the pattern can be purchased at Patternfish.
