Amaryllis update, swatch April 6, 2010
The amaryllis didn’t look that much different first thing this morning than it did yesterday morning.
It’s out a little farther, and the color is a bit more intense. It’s extremely clear at this point that there will be two blossoms at the top of the stalk. ![]()
The swatch knit in the round worked out much, much better than the other one. I took the opportunity of having seven sections to play in to try out different treatments for the outer section. I was surprised by the results. The one that’s easiest to knit and keep track of also looks the best. Hooray! I have a sweet little border to knit on to help keep the edges from curling, add a little more interest. I’m not going to show it to you until I get that far, though, as I don’t have a swatch for it.
The yarn for the secret project arrived in yesterday’s mail: six hanks of fancy-schmancy lace weight yarn, 200 yards per hank. Sweet! I need to get going on that pattern, get the kinks out, work up the sample in the yummy, yummy yarn.

I’m glad to hear your second swatch worked out better. It’s great, too, that the easiest solution worked best!
