Cirrus, like the cloud

Friday, February 6, 2009

The competition was fierce, but the scarf name poll had one clear winner, one that I happen to like quite a bit: cirrus. Like the cirrus clouds the scarf is light and fluffy. There’s one picture in particular on Wikipedia that’s perfect. It shows cirrus clouds behind the Golden Gate Bridge—the clouds wave back and […]

Finally finished the second (?) sock

Friday, October 17, 2008

The socks are done
I’m not actually sure how to count this. In the end there are two finished socks. But along the way I knit three of them. I don’t know if you recall, but originally I knit the first sock with needles a size too big. Don’t ask. I have no idea why I […]

To Market

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Amidst a flurry of activity, I released the market/string bag pattern yesterday, To Market.

The plan was to sell the pattern for a mere $5.00, but after looking into it, poking around on Ravelry, I decided that no one would ever make it, if I tried to sell it. There are just too many free […]

It needs to finish drying

Thursday, October 9, 2008

The knitting is done. I’ve proclaimed that the felting is done. Now it just needs to finish drying. The outside of the bag seems dry, but the inside is still quite wet. Yes, that is a definite stripe a bit under the handles. When I bought this yarn, years ago, I told the company I […]

My first sweater design

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Decision made. I’m not going to submit this sweater pattern anywhere. There’s a little something else I have in mind that I think I will submit… So, you get to see what I knit last week! Yup. The basic design plan, and all the knitting for my sample sweater took ten days—including weaving in the […]

In the Woods

Monday, September 29, 2008

I’m being a bit lazy at the moment. I’m not going to upload all the pictures I have so that you can view them in my blog. You’ll just have to go over to the In the Woods pattern page in my shop to see them. There are lots.

Pattern: In the Woods, of my […]

More mitts

Monday, September 1, 2008

I liked knitting the Tenaya mitts so much that I decided another pair was in order. I was having so much fun knitting the last pair of socks, that I thought matching mitts would be just the thing. A new pattern was born—Sugar Push—and is currently being test knit by the lovely Jocelyn. They knit […]

Friendship

Friday, August 22, 2008

My wonderful test knitters, Kristie and Kathryn, declared that the pattern is done, so I released it this morning. It’s available for sale on the pattern page, and here on Ravelry.

Karen’s shawl

Monday, July 28, 2008

The shawl for Karen is done. Blocked and everything. It’s huge. But then, I wanted it to be. It’s a full 88 inches across, and 43 inches high. Karen will look elegant dressed in black and wrapped in this shawl that glistens and twinkles when the light hits it; the beads will sparkle in candlelight. […]
