First a couple newsy bits
One of XRX’s long time employees is battling with ovarian cancer, and needs your help. Purchase of raffle tickets gets you entered in a drawing to receive a fabulous blanket, and proceeds go to help the fight.
Read Uncommon Threads’ interview with Kaffe Fassett, one of my long-time design heroes. Read about […]

Hello all. This is Dave, Laura’s husband and support group.
I was glancing through the newly arrived Yarn Barn of Kansas catalog and was really jazzed to find two of Laura’s patterns prominently displayed on page 30.

The pattern at the upper-right is Diamanten and the pattern at the bottom is Capistrano.
Pretty cool, what?

Remembering

Eight years ago today our country was shaken by terrorist attack. I had this picture and quote on my old web site for a long time. It felt right to bring it back today. In remembrance.
A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest […]

Nupps are easier in lace weight

While I wait for the yarn to arrive from Dee, I’ve been cleaning out my knitting to-do list. The socks, as you saw, were finished last week. The last of the small shop samples got themselves knit up late yesterday. I got four samples out of the one small ball of yarn I had. There […]

Late last week a friend, Rachel, asked if I’d be willing […]

Conwy progress

It’s amazing how much I can get knit on a sock in a day when I don’t have any other knitting projects on the go, and carry the sock from room to room with me. This said, don’t think that stitching on the pansies is lagging, as it’s not. Got a lot done in that […]

Changes

Monday, March 12, 2007

Unbeknownst to us, there have been more things going on over at Interweave Knits than the change in layout. Eunny let us know in her blog post this morning. She’s going to be the new editor! Eunny is an amazing knitwear designer and knitting author. I mean, look at this sweater she just finished. It’ll […]

President Ford
I don’t know why I was so surprised to hear about the passing of President Ford, but I was. And saddened. I remember Watergate and the Nixon mess fairly well considering I’ve never exactly been a news hound. I always thought that Ford did a fairly good job cleaning up. What a job that […]
