The shawl starts at one end with a provisional cast on. The first motif is knit on this end, a second in the center, returning to the first motif on the other side. The border, a third vine motif, is knit on last.
Yarn: Lace weight yarn, 1,300 yards. Model knit with Malabrigo Lace: 2 hanks Forrest, 1.04 hanks Black. Can be knit with 3 hanks of Malabrigo Lace if only 1 color is used for entire design.
Needles: Size 5 (3.75 mm).
Gauge: 24 sts x 29 rows to 4 inches in vine lace zigzag motif, blocked.
Finished size: 21 x 74 inches (53 x 188 cm)
Other supplies: Waste yarn for provisional cast on. Lifelines and stitch markers are optional.
